Open Letter to President Emmanuel Macron Mr. President, For years, you have defended the idea of European sovereignty. Energy sovereignty. Industrial sovereignty. Military sovereignty. But there is another form of sovereignty that has become just as fundamental: 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆. Today, the conversations of French and European citizens, their debates, their opinions, their data, and sometimes even their elections... Are massively shaped by foreign platforms. American. Or Chinese. Two weeks ago, together with my partner @Jasseem Allybokus, who is French like me,we launched eYou: A 100% European social platform built around European values. Trust. Transparency. Data protection. Responsible algorithms. Fighting misinformation. And the reaction was immediate. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀. Why? Because many citizens are no longer simply looking for a new social network. They are looking for a European social network. For years, Europe has regulated technology. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵! Europe must now build. Create. Innovate. Because no civilization can remain powerful if its social networks depend entirely on foreign actors. Mr. President, France and Europe can still become major digital powers. But for that, they need: Moral and symbolic support. A collective ambition. A strong signal. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲. A powerful symbol. Perhaps even a historic one. Because the social media sector is not closed. 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻. Europe can still create its own champions. But we must start now. Because the day Europe no longer controls its voice, it will no longer control its destiny. In short, I have only one request, Mr. President: Join eYou. Not only as a user. But as a symbol. The symbol of a Europe that stops merely regulating… and finally starts building again. Because European digital sovereignty will not be born from grand speeches. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
