⁉️How I made the Bulgarian authorities do their job ! Few years ago , in 2023 , I visited my wife’s relatives back in Varna , Bulgaria, and I found these metal bits hidden in the sand box while cleaning the playground behind their block of apartments. I went to the neighbourhood city hall ( yes , each neighbourhood has a mayor) and told them to come and cut the metal part found there as it was very dangerous. It was Wednesday and they promised to solve it by Friday . They didn’t show up , so Monday morning I called them and I was told that they are outsourcing these services and the company that should have taken care of it , lied that they did the job . They showed up later that day , but they didn’t cut that metal piece properly and a sharp bit was still endangering the kids . I called them again next day , they said it had already been solved , case closed. Only when I told them that if they don’t come back and safely solve the problem , they will feature a interview that I was just about to give to a national tv channel, they decided to give it one more try . Not only the men that did the work came back , but also the secretary that I spoke over the phone to . One day before, I covered the dangerous metal with sand and stones and when they asked me where it was ( as if they didn’t know ) I started uncovering it and cut my finger in it . Since than I have not had any other “issues “ with the local authorities, and in fact they were quite helpful when I needed help in removing tens of sacks full of soil and grass from my playground cleanups . While visiting my wife’s relatives in Varna , Bulgaria I noticed few offensive graffities on the metal bins and it took me about 1 hour of work to remove them .
